Small Print…
Big Personality…
Chelmsford made…
Menticulture is a hand-made, risograph-printed arts and culture zine based in Chelmsford, Essex. Published every two months in a limited run of just 150 hand-numbered copies, it captures the city’s creative undercurrents, from illustrators and musicians to grassroots projects, independent shops and forgotten stories.
Each issue is print-only (no digital version), risograph-printed in two colours, and sells out fast. There are no adverts, no algorithms, just lo-fi, tactile publishing made with intention and curiosity.
In 2025, Menticulture received the Panic Award for Outstanding Contribution, recognising its role in celebrating local culture and championing slow media. Whether you’re into zines, DIY publishing, or the quiet thrill of discovering something rare and real, Menticulture might just be your next favourite thing, especially if you’ve ever wondered what’s bubbling under the surface in places like Chelmsford.
